Biography

Lauren began her study of music on the piano at age seven. A harpist's performance at a Young Artist Competition Concert sparked Lauren's love of the harp.


In 1999 Lauren began performing at weddings, and has performed at over one hundred weddings and receptions to date.

 

Other groups Lauren has performed with include: Sacramento State University and Chico State University Wind Ensembles, Simpson University Sinfonia, Shasta Symphony Orchestra, and the North State Symphony.


Lauren won the North State Symphony Young Artist Competition in 2003 and performed with the Symphony in their 2004 season.

 

In 2004, Lauren graduated from Simpson University with a degree in Music, Harp Performance. Fall of 2009, Lauren completed a Master of Arts in Music degree from Chico State University with a focus on elementary harp education.

 

Lauren has studied with Dan Levitan, Marylee Dozier-Hicks and Candace LiVolsi. Lauren is now sharing her knowledge and love for the instrument through her own studio in Redding and as adjunct faculty for the Simpson University music department.
